In the last 50 years, no invention did more work to lift people out of poverty than the shipping container. It reduced the cost of shipping goods globally by roughly 95%, and enabled a huge boom in exports from communities not previously connected to markets of global buyers.

But that rapid growth happened before technology was the default across industries, and legacy shipping companies still operate in a messy reality of phone calls, faxes, and spreadsheets. The next leap forward can only happen once we put an end to the fragmentation and inefficiency that stem from manual processes.
