Most of our interviews are held virtually. You might kick things off with a phone call, but the majority of your conversations will happen over Google Meet (North America & Europe) or Zoom (Asia).
If you’re invited to a final round, we may host you onsite at one of our offices so you can meet the team in person and experience our culture firsthand.
You'll receive a calendar invite with all connection details before each step. If you run into any technical issues, reach out to your recruiter - they’re here to help.
Our interviews are designed to be conversational, thoughtful, and reflective of what it’s like to work at Flexport.
We focus on two types of questions:
Behavioral
We’ll ask about your past experiences—how you’ve solved problems, worked with others, and made decisions. Using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) is a great way to structure your stories.
Values-Aligned
We look for people who will add to our culture, not just fit in. Expect questions about how you collaborate, navigate ambiguity, and live out the kinds of principles that matter to us. Review our values on the "About Flexport" tab.
You’ll also get time to ask us questions—we want this to be a two-way street.
How can I best prepare for my interview?
Start by reviewing the job description closely. Reflect on your past experiences and prepare examples that map to the role's key responsibilities. Use the STAR method to bring structure to your answers.
Your recruiter can help you understand what success looks like in this role and who you'll be speaking with - don’t hesitate to reach out!
Are interviews held in person or virtually?
Most interviews are held virtually via Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams. If you're advancing to a final round, you may be invited for an onsite interview at one of our Flexport offices.
Your recruiter will send the details and ensure everything’s on your calendar.
What types of questions can I expect in my interviews?
Most of our questions fall into two buckets:
Behavioral (How have you handled things in the past?)
Situational (How would you respond to a hypothetical challenge?)
We care deeply about our values - so expect to talk about how you work with others, solve problems, and make decisions. Be ready to walk us through the actions you took and the outcomes you delivered.
Will I receive feedback so I can improve?
We know feedback is important, and we do our best to offer it when we can. That said, we can’t always guarantee feedback at every stage due to volume or timing. If you have questions after an interview, feel free to check in with your recruiter.
